I have been a registered social worker for many years and have so enjoyed working with older people and listening to their life stories and reminiscences. I quickly realised that each one of us, young or old, has a story to tell and one which will undoubtedly interest future generations.
I lost my mum and dad 20 years ago and so wish that I had listened more carefully to their recollections and made a note of them. I have lost count of the number of times that someone said “I must get around to writing my life story .... “. It was this and my interest in family history that inspired me to offer this service “My Life and Memories”.
The river Test, in Hampshire, has been an inspiration to me throughout my life. I’ve lived at different points along its banks and currently live in Overton, close to its source. The river has given me peace and has inspired me to write.
